The dry tropical rainforest is home to old growth hardwood trees such as Ebony, Ocotillo, Ocotin, Palo de Arco, and Lignum Vitae (Guayacan Real), the tree used by the Maya to build Tikal. Medicinal trees such as Quinine, Cuachalala, Grado and Macuil also abound.
Old gigantic cacti draw magical Earth energy from deep within our Planet’s Core.
The forest is home to many animals including white tailed deer (smaller than its northern cousin), Coatis, Kinkajous, ant eaters, armadillos, different kinds of wild cats, large iguanas, Boas etc.
Birds include west Mexican white bellied Chachalacas, turquoise-browed Mot-mots, citreoline Trogons, many varieties of Hummingbirds, ladder backed and lineated palebilled WoodPecker, orange fronted parakeets, squirrel Cuckoos, etc.
Our rainy season extends from late may till the end of October. The forest bursts back to life with the first heavy rains transforming an arid landscape into a lush rainforest in a matter of days.
The climate is hot during the day, fresh at night and sometimes chilly at dawn.
